New Committee Inauguration Ceremony – Press Release

Hong Kong Professional Golfers’ Association New Committee Inauguration Ceremony had been completed at SkyCity Nine Eagles Golf Course earlier in this month. Thanks to our honorary presidents, members and friends who gave their supports and made it a very enjoyable night.

The ceremony started with the speech by the new chairman of HKPGA – Mr. Daniel Liu, followed by our honorary presidents – Mr. Eric Tsang and Mr. Antares Cheng. After that, the vice-chairman of HKPGA and the captain of the ladies division – Mr. Danny Kan and Ms. Melody Chan gave their introductions of the upcoming event, the biggest event of every year for HKPGA – The 9th Yinli HKPGA Classic 2011. The total prize of this year event had gone up to $1,400,000 Hong Kong dollars. Also, some of our familiar names had also agreed to participate in the tournament this year, including the champion of 2008 Hong Kong Open Mr. Lin Wen-Tang. After the introduction of this year Yinli Classic, the Executive Secretary of HKPGA gave the speech about the upcoming events for the association in the year of 2012. Since the new sponsor had been added, the number of tournaments for next year would increase to no less than 10 in 2012. All these tournaments would be played all over of the area of Hong Kong and Southern part of China. Others, such as continuing education for our existing members, updating our website faster and more frequent, and developing the magazine of HKPGA, are the steps that HKPGA is going to work on in 2012. The target of all these actions is to develop a better platform for communication internally and externally, in order to contribute for the golf of Hong Kong. This is also the mission of HKPGA.

After the serious ceremony, the relaxing part of the party had been begun with the aimless champagne by Mr. Antares Cheng, who was also the main sponsor for the night. In addition with the live band from Mexico, everyone was bringing back home with full of joy.
