M K TANG Won the Second Leg by Five Strokes

Leg 2 of HKPGA - Senior Division was held at the Zhaoqing Resort and Golf Club on 14 and 15 of April 2014. M K Tang continued his strong playing ability and won the Second Leg with 5 strokes lead. He played 73 in both rounds. At the prize presentation ceremony, Tang said, “I just wish to keep on playing well so as to achieve better result in the Open Division in the days ahead.” . The statement reflected a true golf enthusiast!
The road to the Zhaoqing Resort and Golf Club was long and winding like wishing to play good in golf! Yet with a newly built highway, the travelling time from Huanggang to the Club was shortened by 45 minutes at least. Furthermore, the superb hospitality of the Club and the fine weather also helped all 30 some players to start the first round in top form. Around half of the players finished their first round in the 70’s. M K Tang (73), Danny Kan (73), Qiu Zhi-wei (73), Michael Kan (75) and William Fung (77) were all within a few strokes.
The weather on the second day continued to be very fine. The leading group put up a very good show that William Fung caught five birdies at the back nine and finished the round at 74. However, M K Tang maintained a very stable performance and got another 73. He finished with a total of 146 for two rounds. Congratulations to M K for his second win in this season!
For the Trainee Division, Fung Chi-yuen played a 76 on the first day could not hold on to the good performance and slid 6th place at last. A bit disappointment! On the other hand, Kan Wing-fu and Pang Kwok-kuen finished the two rounds at a total of 157 and 159 respectively won the first and second place of the Second Leg. It is worth to note that a total of 6 trainees passed the playing ability test standard in this Leg. Congratulations to all of them!
The Third Leg is planned to be played in coming June. All players are looking forward to the event once again. Meanwhile, tough training will continue off the course!
