Lin Chien Bing from Taiwan captured the Open Division championship of the 7th Yinli HKPGA Classic 2009 and the prize of $138,000

The 7th Yinli HKPGA Classic, the most significant event on the Hong Kong Professional Golfers’ Association’s calendar with notable order of merit points, took place on Oct 19 – 20 at Yinli Foreign Investors Golf Club, Dongguan. The annual event was organized by HKPGA, major sponsored by Yinli Golf Club and co-sponsored by Mr. Cheng Kwee and Mr. Alan Kwok Chin Kwok, the total purse for the event has grown to HK$900,000 with elite professional players from Mainland China, Singapore, Taiwan and Hong Kong invited to take part.
Lin Chien Bing from Taiwan captured the Open Division championship and the prize of $138,000 with a 2-day-combined score of 141 (70/71). Poh Eng Teck from Singapore clinched the title of Senior Division and the prize of $25,000 with a total core of 144 (71/73). The Ladies Division title and the prize of $20,000 went to Yang Hong Mei with the score of 141 (69/72).

The launch of the 7th Yinli HKPGA Classic, which will take place at Yinli Foreign Investors Golf Club, Dongguan, China on Oct 19 and marks the final stage of the HKPGA Order of Merit 2009. The 2-day-event presents an excellent opportunity for around hundred elite professional golfers from the region like China, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan to sharpen their skills and compete for the top spot at the 36-hole tournament under the Open, Senior and Ladies divisions. Last year champions - Huang Tung-liang (Taiwan), Bill Fua (Singapore) and Wu Ling (China) from the respective divisions will also join the tournament to defend the title. The total sponsored amount for the event has grown to HK$900,000. With extensive experience in co-organizing the annual event, Yinli Golf Club and HKPGA are determined to make this year’s event one of the biggest, most exciting & influential professional golf tournament in Asia.
With a view to promoting the development of golf in Hong Kong, Mr. Leung Chi, Chairman of Yinli Golf Club & Vice President of HKPGA, has been sponsoring the annual event since its launch in 2003. His passion can be shown through his will and deeds. Apart from being financially supportive, Mr. Leung has also been actively participated in the design of fairways and bunkers, hoping to fully explore golfers’ potential with a more challenging golf course together with the provision of best facilities from the club.
A Pro–Am tournament will subsequently be held on Oct 21. Celebrities and professional golfers will team up and compete for the Best Team Award. Golf enthusiasts around the region will look very much forward to this important event of the year.
